My Top 10 Wedding Venues in Charlotte, NC

Picking a wedding venue is one of the biggest decisions (and expense) that comes with wedding planning. I know for me, our wedding venue (The White Home, Rock Hill) holds a special place in my heart. As a wedding photographer, I’ve been to quite a few weddings, and I wanted to share the top ten that my couples frequently book. They make amazing backdrops for photos and offer special wedding packages. Now, in no particular order, here are my top ten wedding venues in Charlotte!

1. The Duke Mansion

Book a whole mansion just for you for a day! The Duke Mansion only accepts 25 weddings a year, so there is some competition to get a day booked at this venue, but it’s so worth it! With space both inside and outdoors, you’ll have everything you want at The Duke Mansion.

2. Catawba Falls

A wedding on a gorgeous lake? Yes, please! Experience timeless character and southern charm at this unique venue. If you’re eloping, you can choose a more intimate setting at Catawba Falls but still fully experience the beauty. They say, “The only limit for your dream wedding is your own imagination!”

3. Historic White Home

At The White Home, you get a little bit of everything. The venue features a gorgeous outdoor space, historic rooms, and professionally designed, modern gardens. It also has several locations for your ceremony available on-site. I recommend booking a tour with them to fully experience what Rock Hill has to offer!

4. Chickadee Hill Farms

Who doesn’t want cute ponies at their wedding?! That’s just one of the unique features of Chickadee Hill Farms. You get to pick from one of three sites to have your wedding: Rolling Hill Arbor, Shaded Wooded Wedding, and The Pony Field. You also get an on-site event coordinator to help you plan the celebration. As a newer venue (it opened in 2020), you’ll be one of the first to utilize this up-and-coming site!

5. Bansen Farms

For more intimate settings, Bansen Farms is the place to go. It has some of the most stunning backdrops I’ve seen, including grass fields, woods, dazzling lights, dreamy hammocks, and, of course, a classic barn. It’s the dream boho-style venue!

6. The Kinsleeshop Farm

The Kinsleeshop Farm is the dream barn wedding backdrop! This beautiful farm features an outdoor patio and gazebo barn that can hold up to 150 guests. You’ll even have access to other locations on-site such as groomed fields, a fishing shack, and wooded trails. It’s a great venue for outdoorsy couples!

7. Palisades Country Club

Country clubs always have spectacular views, but The Palisades is one of a kind. In fact, it’s an award-winning wedding venue in Charlotte. It offers indoor and outdoor space for up to 200 people. I suggest utilizing the outdoor space. Take advantage of the lush greenery and woodlands!

8. Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte

I personally love the city backdrop that the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Charlotte has to offer. Since the location is a hotel, they offer everything you need including multiple spaces for guests and the wedding party, accommodations, and catering. My couples who have a lot of people traveling from out of town love this venue!

9. The Providence Cotton Mill

I love this venue because of the old-fashioned architecture. The brick walls, arched windows, and exposed wooden beams add a certain type of beauty that is hard to find nowadays. As they say on their website, “Trendy wedding fads come and go, but The Providence Cotton Mill stands the test of time.”

10. The Dairy Barn

The Dairy Barn at the Anne Springs Close Greenway is the perfect outdoor venue for large weddings (up to 400 people). It has an amazing outdoor patio and downstairs area to seat everyone. The rental of the space also includes things like tables, a venue host available on-site, and free parking for guests. It’s a must-see!

And there you have it! My top ten wedding venues in Charlotte. While I have not had the chance to capture a wedding at some of these locations, I’ve had a chance to spend time there and they won’t let you down! I hope you check them out, too. When you’re ready to book your wedding photographer, give me a call! I’d be happy to chat with you about making your wedding day extra special.
